An inner-Brisbane downsizer chose to pay $4.1m for city and park views rather than riverfront to secure a brand new penthouse that will be ready to move into at the start of next year.

Azure’s One Earle Lane has sold its 8.01 penthouse which has an 18.3-metre frontage, three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, multiple living areas, a home office, a large north-facing balcony and parking for three cars.

Azure director Trent Keirnan said the development had received “tremendous interest” with the penthouse sale a testament to the superior product coming to the Brisbane market. Located in inner west suburb Toowong, the project was designed by Paul Conrad Architects and is being built by 5Point Projects which Azure said was “on track for completion at the start of Q1 2025”.

Place Estate Agents’ Simon Caulfield, who sold the luxurious penthouse, said “there is confidence in the completion of One Earle Lane by Q1 2025”. He said the buyer was considering a nearby development that had river views but was swayed by the opportunity and location of the penthouse at One Earle Lane.

“Despite the buyer having the resources and the option to purchase a river-view apartment, they chose One Earle Lane due to its attractive offerings such as the extensive amenities, top floor corner position, uninterrupted city and park views, and the design and finishes”. The new owner will be downsizing from a home in Paddington upon completion of construction and had been searching for a penthouse in the local area for a while.

The development will have resident amenities that include private dining, cinema, gymnasium, yoga studio, sauna, steam room, hot and cold plunges, and a 25-metre heated lap pool.

Azure has over $500m in developments on its portfolio including Oakmont, One Five Six and Dahlia with a future pipeline exceeding of $1.3b.
